Frequently asked questions

Have questions about semi-permanent makeup or our training programmes? We've got you covered. Visit our FAQ section for detailed answers to common concerns and queries.

Do you offer Nano Brow Training?

Yes. Specialist Nano Hyperrealism Brow training will be available for aspiring and existing permanent makeup artists. The training focuses on developing a strong technical foundation, realistic hairstroke patterns, machine and needle knowledge, skin theory and safe working practices. Further course dates and enrolment details will be announced soon.

Where are you based?

Treatments and training are carried out from a private, tranquil studio on the outskirts of Kelham Island in Sheffield. The space has been designed to provide a calm, professional and personal experience from consultation through to your finished results.

What experience and qualifications do you have?

I have 6 years of experience within the permanent makeup industry and more than 16 years within the wider beauty industry. I am fully qualified, licensed and insured, and I continually invest in advanced education to refine my techniques. My brow work has also been nationally recognised, placing 11th for best SPMU Brows at the UK Hair and Beauty Award.

How do I book an appointment?

Appointments can be booked through the online booking system. A non-refundable booking fee is required to secure your chosen date and time. Please read the booking and cancellation policies carefully before confirming your appointment.

Can you work over pervious PMU?

Generally no - but this depends on how dark, saturated and visible the existing pigment is. Previous work usually needs to be significantly faded before new hairstrokes can be created successfully. Please send clear, makeup-free photographs of your brows in natural daylight before booking. In some cases, laser or saline lightening may be recommended first.

Is Nano the same as Microblading?

No. Microblading uses a handheld blade to create small cuts in the skin, whereas Nano Brows are created using a fine needle and digital machine. The machine method is generally gentler on the skin and allows me to create delicate, flowing hairstrokes without the trauma.

How should I prepare for my PMU appointment?

Avoid alcohol, excessive caffeine, blood thinning supplements and strenuous exercise immediately before your appointment. Please also avoid retinoids, strong exfoliating products and intensive facial treatments around the brow area in the lead-up to treatment. Full preparation guidance will be provided when you book.

Do I need a consultation before booking?

A seperate consultation is not usually required, as a thorough consultation and brow design are completed at the beginning of your appointment. However, complimentary consultations are available if you are particularly nervous, have previous PMU or would prefer to discuss your options in person beforehand.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Avoid wearing white or anything light on your top half. Wear comfortable clothing to your appointment as for PMU appointments you will be laid for up to 3 hours. Ensure that it is weather/temperature appropriate - we can not provide blankets for PMU services do to licensing regulations.

Do Nano Brows hurt?

Most clients experience very little discomfort and often describe the treatment as much easier that expected - often falling asleep. A topical numbing product will be used where appropriate, and I work carefully and gently throughout the appointment.

Will my brows look blocky or obviously tattooed?

Absolutely not - my work is designed to look soft, natural and undetectable once healed. Rather than creating a solid "tattoed brow", I use varied hairstrokes, thicknesses and directions to mimic natural hair growth. All permanent makeup will gradually soften and fade over time, but careful technique and appropriate pigment placement help prevent the heavy, blocky appearance associated with older methods.

Do I need a patch test?

Patch testing is mandatory for treatments involving tinting, perming and pigment implantation. Please contact me before your appointment if you have any allergies, sensitivities or any concerns.
